■ Non-degree students must attend 10 or more hours of courses per week.

This is a legal requirement, and if the student fails to register for at least 10 hours of courses per week, the “College Student” status of residence will be terminated. Please be sure to attend 10 or more hours of courses.

■ In principle, a non-degree student can hold a "College Student" status of residence for one year.

If you have studied as a non-regular student, such as a non-degree student or a research student in other universities for a one year period in the past, you will not be able to newly obtain a "College Student" status of residence, even if this is your first year of study at Waseda University. If special circumstances require you to continue enrollment as a non-degree student, please inquire the Immigration Bureau beforehand.
Please take note that the university will not be able to refund you of admission fees or tuition that has already been paid, even in the case of the termination of your status of residence.

■ In principle, a research student can hold a "College Student" status of residence for two years.

If special circumstances require you to continue enrollment as a research student, please inquire the Immigration Bureau beforehand.
Please take note that the university will not be able to refund you of admission fees or tuition that has already been paid, even in the case of the termination of your status of residence.
