Waseda-US Scholarship
(Commemorating 125 years of the foundation of Waseda University)

| The scholarship for the 2010 academic year is as follows: |
| Eligibility: |
Undergraduate students who are planning to study at a designed partner university in the US under a program offered by the Center for International Education.
|
Designated partner universities for the 2010 academic year
・ The University of Pennsylvania (ISA)
・ University of California, Berkeley (ISA)
・ Carleton College (ISA)
Upon being selected as a candidate for studying at one of the affiliated universities mentioned above, the student's achievements in the writing improvement course will be evaluated, and after his/her academic results up to the end of the 2009 academic year have been confirmed, the decision with regard to his/her selection as a finalized candidate and as a recipient of the said scholarship will be announced. (To be announced between June and July in 2010)
* Students selected as candidates for the affiliated universities mentioned above will automatically be eligible as candidates for the Waseda-US Scholarship, and will not be required to partake in any application procedure for the scholarship. However, please note that those applicants who wishing to apply for both the JASSO scholarship and the Waseda University student exchange scholarship would have to complete the application procedures for both.

| Student Exchange Support Program (Scholarship for Short-Term Study Abroad) |
This scholarship is offered by the Japan Student Services Organization, which is an organization affiliated to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
Eligibility: Students in graduate or undergraduate schools who will study abroad through Waseda University study abroad programs.(Except foreign students who stay as "study abroad")
Amount: 80,000 yen a month
Duration: For a maximum of 12 months

| Alumni Association Study Abroad Scholarship |
| Eligibility: |
Person who is to go to Oxford University or Cambridge University via the study abroad program of a college specified by the Center for International Education. Candidates must be highly motivated to study abroad and have outstanding personal qualities. |

1,500,000 yen a year (Note: The amount may be reduced depending on the situation.) |

| JASSO Scholarship Loans for Short-Terms Study Abroad (Category 2 Loans) |
| Eligibility: |
Undergraduate and graduate students who will study abroad at an overseas university |

Category 2 Loans (Interest-bearing: select either fixed interest rate or readjusted interest rate)
Special increase in the loan amount at time of study abroad may be granted by request (Interest-bearing single lump-sum: select from 100,000, 200,000, 300,000, 400,000, 500,000 yen) |

Most of these scholarships are for graduate students. Students studying at their own expense and those studying on the exchange programs are eligible for these scholarships. Contact each organization directly for further details.

A student can apply for this scholarship on the condition that he/she is recommended by Waseda University.
The detailed information on these scholarships such as their deadlines and eligibility criteria will be posted and updated on the CIE website.
Those students who wish to apply for these scholarships are requested to check the website periodically, prepare the necessary documents, and submit the same to the CIE within indicated deadlines.
