At Waseda University we have a doctrine called the "Waseda University Doctrine" which refers to the "Cultivation of Good Citizenship". Today, this doctrine has been reconstituted into the more contemporary theme of "Cultivating Global Citizens". The philosophy behind "Cultivating Global Citizens" is one emphasizing contributing to the symbiotic relationship between humanity and the earth through cultivating human beings who have global vision, are widely learned and who dare to challenge the difficult problems we face today. The study abroad experience contributes significantly to the cultivation of adequate human resources as required by the contemporary society.
The Center for International Education offers the following services to provide as much study abroad opportunities as possible.

The center holds a pre-departure orientation for successful candidates, which provides important information about living overseas and what you should be aware of. Still, it is important to be aware that you are the one who can deal with unexpected problems while abroad but the CIE will provide assistance to solve the problems, if necessary. |
