Accepting Student Seminar Groups to Participate at U21 Undergraduate Research Conference
As part of the U21(Universitas 21) that Waseda University is affiliated with, all affiliated Universities are giving the opportunities to undergraduate students only, to go participate at the Undergraduate Research Conference 2010 held at Melbourne University, Australia.
Waseda University is looking for applicants (group of a zemi:[~) to participate in the conference mentioned above.
U21 Undergraduate Research Conference 2010 Outline This program started up in 2005 in order to give the U21 affiliated university undergraduate students the opportunity to announce their research achievements at an international environment. The students will be given 10 minutes at the verbal presentation and the opportunity to participate at the poster session.
Date: July 1st (Thursday) 2010 - July 7th (Wednesday) 2010 Venue: University of Melbourne, Australia Announcing subject field: Faculty of Imagining, inspired by the creative genius of Albert Einstein, who celebrated imagination as being 'more important than knowledge'. Imagination facilitates meaning and understanding and is fundamental to the development of quality research across multiple disciplines.

Number of Groups: 1 group 1 group = 4 people i1 professor, 3 studentsj As a general rule, those applying must be of a zemi ([~) group which is lead by a Waseda professor. If a student who is not a member of the zemi ([~) group would like to join, the student must receive permission from the seminar professor and other seminar members. The breakdown for the 3 students is as follows; 1 student participates at the presentation session, 1 student participates at the poster session and the remaining 1 student may select from the 2 options.
Requirements EThe students must be a regular undergraduate student (3rd year or above) from Waseda University. EThe participating group must be able to communicate with each other in English. EThe students must have their own will to apply and have the desire to participate at the U21 exchange activities.
Conditions EUpon joining the program there must be no interference regarding your registered classes and/or research guidance. (Please note that withdrawing or canceling your participation midway due to classes or school reasons is not acceptable.) EA consent form must be agreed on and signed. (The consent form will be directly distributed to the applicants at a later date.) EIn order to cover any unforeseen accidents or illness during the program period, it is necessary to join an overseas traveling insurance specified by Waseda University. EA report must be written after returning home. EThe professor must be accompanying as a supervisor.
Fees: Approx. \30,000 per student iAs part of Waseda University's management and administrationj.
*Accommodation expenses and a round trip air fare from Narita to Melbourne will be covered by Waseda University. *Besides the above mentioned expenses, the student is responsible for covering the costs of joining an overseas traveling insurance specified by Waseda University, any expenses to and back from your home and living expenses which may occur at your destination. *The university will cover costs for the accompanying professor and cover the costs as the univeristy's official travel expenses.
How to Apply: 1. One student, a representative will need to input all necessary information on the application form which can be found on Waseda net Portal. 2. An abstract from your research achievement announce must be written in English within 300 words and inputted on the application form mentioned above. During the application period, the application form may be draft saved numerous times.
