CIE is recruiting Undergraduate Students for Hong Kong-Japan Budding Scholars Exchange Scheme Between United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Waseda University Co-Sponsored by Kamenori Foundation.
Scheme Details:
- Concept:Hong Kong students and Japanese students will conduct research on “The Internationalization of Higher Education: Myth and Reality.” The major aims are to develop mutual understanding and networking among young leaders between Hong Kong and Japan and also assist them to develop leadership skills in international arenas.
- Eligible Applicants:Waseda University Undergraduate Students
- Requirements:
1. Any nationality other than students from Hong Kong 2. Strong interest in the above topic and exchange with Hong Kong students 3. Advanced English fluency 4. Commitment to fully participate in Japan program between 2/15-2/21 2010 and in Hong Kong program between 3/22-3/28 2010.
- Number:7-8 students
- Fee:JPY 90,000 (Airfare and Joining Fee)
All other group activity fees such as lecturing fees, museum admissions, accommodation and meals will be paid by Waseda University, CUHK, and Kamenori Foundation. Other individual expenses including compulsory travel insurance fees are to be paid by participating students.

Program Schedule, Japan, 2/15-2/21(pdf) Program Schedule, Hong Kong, 3/22-3/28 Similar to Japan, students will conduct research on internationalization of higher education while exploring case studies through group projects and forums in CUHK. Finally, they will present their research findings in Hong Kong. *All schedule is subject to change without any notice.

Notes for Application:
- Application is limited to full-time Waseda University undergraduate students.
- If there are many applicants, a screening may take place. Applicants may formally apply for the program only after the above information has been confirmed. (Details will be notified at a later date).
- In order to participate in these programs, you will be required to submit a "Study Abroad Agreement" as designated by the CIE. You will also be required to enroll in "Waseda Insurance" (an overseas travel insurance) arranged by Waseda University.
- Please make sure to understand all details of your preferred program before applying.
Other Notes:
- All procedures related to application and participation in the program (such as getting a passport/visa, etc) is the sole responsibility of the applicant.
