Waseda University offers a number of scholarship options for its students. International students can also apply for scholarships after admittance to the university.
International students who wish to receive scholarships need to fill out the “Scholarship Registration Form (for International Students)" and submit it to their respective undergraduate/graduate school at the time of enrollment (April or September).
Please note however, that depending on the undergraduate/graduate school you may not be able to apply for scholarships if this registration procedure is neglected.
The "Scholarship Registration Form (for International Students)" is distributed during the Scholarship Orientation session. Submitting the Form alone does not mean you have applied for scholarship. It is essential for you to follow each scholarship's application procedures.
Students who wish to apply for scholarships consecutively the following year are required to submit the "Scholarship Registration Form (for International Students)" every year in April.
Please note that scholarship announcements are made not directly by the Scholarships and Financial Assistance Section but through each school's office.
You can get detailed information on how to apply and the eligibility criteria through scholarship flyers on the bulletin board of your school's office or application guides available at the office.

At the time of application for university admission, there is a need to guarantee that you have financial resources sufficient enough to cover all necessary costs during your stay in Japan. As it is very difficult to win a scholarship straight after entering university, you should build your study abroad plan excluding the possibility of receiving scholarships. You can only apply for scholarships after you begin your studies at university. |
