In order to receive sholarships, you need to obtain "Ryugaku (student)" visa.
If your current visa status is "Shugaku (pre-college student)", it will be regarded as "Ryugaku (student)" visa so there will be no necessity for you to change your visa status. (As of July 1st 2010) |

- Documents concerning defraying expenses
(please obtain one amongst the followings.)
- Bank balance certificate
(This can be requested at your bank)
- Certificate of Scholarship
(you can request at Scholarships and Financial Assistance Section, Student Affairs Division.
**For students receiving scholarships from private organizations, please receive the certificate from them.)
- A photocopy of your monthly bank statement, which shows the steady flow of income in your bank account (e.g. transfer of money from abroad etc)
- Written Oath for Defraying Expenses
(available at the CIE office)
